Summary

A lone astronaut must save the earth from disaster in this incredible new science-based thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Martian

A lone astronaut。
An impossible mission。
An ally he never imagined。

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the earth itself will perish。

Except that right now, he doesn't know that。 He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it。

All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time。 And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company。

His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, Ryland realizes that an impossible task now confronts him。 Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it's up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery-and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species。

And with the clock ticking down and the nearest human being light-years away, he's got to do it all alone。

Or does he?

An irresistible interstellar adventure as only Andy Weir could imagine it, Project Hail Mary is a tale of discovery, speculation, and survival to rival The Martian -- while taking us to places it never dreamed of going。

The book Project hail mary is very much a science fiction by the author named Andy Weir。 He is famous for writing science fiction stories。 I started reading this book because of my English class at Cardigan Mountain School。 My teacher made an assignment to read this book throughout the spring term to learn and think more about the details or wordplays。 The book had a story of a man waking up in a place he has no idea where he is, and has no memory of who he is。 He goes through memories, figuring The book Project hail mary is very much a science fiction by the author named Andy Weir。 He is famous for writing science fiction stories。 I started reading this book because of my English class at Cardigan Mountain School。 My teacher made an assignment to read this book throughout the spring term to learn and think more about the details or wordplays。 The book had a story of a man waking up in a place he has no idea where he is, and has no memory of who he is。 He goes through memories, figuring out his purpose for being in this random place。 The book gave me loneliness because he was in an unexpected place with no one else。 It was fascinating, like the movie Martian, which is the same author in Project hail Mary。I personally really enjoyed reading this book; it was one of the books where I felt like I was watching a movie; the book was straightforward to understand, even though there are a lot of plot changes between past and present, it gets more interesting every time we figure out more information about the main character。 The main character showed courage, and a strong mentality, noticing his best friend dead next to him when he awakened or realized he was out of earth's solar system。 He kept on trying to get his memories back to see what his mission was and his purpose in a Hail Mary spaceship。 As a reader, the story felt like it helped me get more creative and lessons of a positive mindset, even though you are the only one left in a spaceship alone。I recommend reading this book。 I am a guy who doesn't read books a lot, but Project Hail Mary was entertaining to read。 The book had many similarities to movies like Interstellar, Martian, etc。 Which were the movies I enjoyed, but Project Hail Mary was better for me。 I think the age group doesn't matter because of how fun and easy it is to understand and follow up with the story。 To simplify my point about this book, is that Project Hail Mary is a fiction book with life lessons, so it will help us learn to improve our character, and also a book to have fun。 。。。more

Loved! Exactly what I needed after going on a 230 hour fantasy binge。

Probably one of the best classic science fiction books I've ever read。 Somehow the author managed to fill the book with tons of science trivia while still making it approachable to laymen。 Not only is the science well presented, the story itself is incredibly engaging, with plenty of unexpected plot twists and a satisfying ending。 Probably one of the best classic science fiction books I've ever read。 Somehow the author managed to fill the book with tons of science trivia while still making it approachable to laymen。 Not only is the science well presented, the story itself is incredibly engaging, with plenty of unexpected plot twists and a satisfying ending。 。。。more

5。0/5。0Book Quotes:Once again I'm struck by melancholy。 I want to spend the rest of my life studying Eridian biology! But I have to save humanity first。 Stupid humanity。 Getting in the way of my hobbies。At least being stupid isn't permanent。 I'll press on。 I know I shouldn't, but I'm too stupid to take that into consideration。 5。0/5。0Book Quotes:Once again I'm struck by melancholy。 I want to spend the rest of my life studying Eridian biology! Niesamowita historia!

I liked his writing style in this one。 It was a little closer to the style of The Martian, which I loved。 I was very happy with that since Artemis was good but not great。

Ending was ok。 Slow going on this one。 Enjoyed the over all premiss though I think there is way too much science in there。 I didn't understand much of it even though the main character explained things。 Overall it was good but not as great as I thought given it's push by my fellow readers。 Ending was ok。 Slow going on this one。 Enjoyed the over all premiss though I think there is way too much science in there。 I didn't understand much of it even though the main character explained things。 Overall it was good but not as great as I thought given it's push by my fellow readers。 。。。more

。。more

This book is basically science teacher fanfic。 Almost every bit of drama felt artificially inserted just to give mr science an opportunity to demonstrate his superlative science knowledge。 Weir demonstrates how you can take what should be the highest stakes and make them not matter to the reader at all。 The healthy dose of Russophobia was also quite gross。 I did like Rocky though, so it gets one extra star for that。

This is probably one of the best books I've read in a while。 The story was absolutely captivating and heartwarming and I have never been more excited about a science lesson! Definitely recommend! I have decided that I’m not really into space books and about halfway through I lost interest。 Last half of the book I skimmed so I would get the general storyline and see how it ended。 It was probably a 2 star for me but that’s only because I wasn’t interested。 I gave it 3 stars because the premise was interesting and it wasn’t a bad book。

I loved this book。 I loved Martian as well。 Andy Weir has a knack for making difficult scientific concepts, even made up ones, accessible。 It makes sense。 I don’t want to give too much away, but his characters fee so real, even when they are the lone person in the book。 I can also completely see how this novel could be made into a movie。 Loved Grace and Rocky。 I’m hooked。 I’m a Weir fan。

This book made me feel like Jesse Pinkman following Walter White around。

Highly recommend even if you’re not a sci-fi reader。 Inventive story。

。。。more

Good read。 Took a dive in last quarter of the book but author somewhat recovered it。 A decent ending with good plot。

Some books are meant to be savoured through words on a page, but others - like this one - are to be enjoyed as an audio experience。 The narrator Ray Porter gets a whole star for his nuanced delivery and I'm certain the book wouldn't be as good if read as a physical or ebook。 The writing style is entirely conversational and there are some reviews critiquing the poor writing, but it makes so much sense as an audiobook because this is actually how a person would talk - like if we were playing Rylan Some books are meant to be savoured through words on a page, but others - like this one - are to be enjoyed as an audio experience。 The narrator Ray Porter gets a whole star for his nuanced delivery and I'm certain the book wouldn't be as good if read as a physical or ebook。 The writing style is entirely conversational and there are some reviews critiquing the poor writing, but it makes so much sense as an audiobook because this is actually how a person would talk - like if we were playing Ryland Grace's audio astronaut logs。 There's another huge reason why this is a far better experience as an audiobook, but to say more would be to spoil it - but I loved the last quarter of the book with all the joy, hope and humour that shone through the narration。 This might not be great literature, but the hype around the book - and the audiobook in particular - did not disappoint on this occasion, and I truly enjoyed every minute of reading this book。 Weir makes science and maths sound interesting, and I love how he brings humour and fun into space scenarios that, if portrayed by Hollywood, would just be filled with generic tense-sounding SFX and famous actors running around looking intense。 。。。more
